Soundbox | Experiential Design


A memory-capturing experience that allows parents to preserve their child's photos, creations, and objects and pair them with recorded conversations and/or music to revisit in the future. Simply place the items inside the box, and when the box is placed on the Soundbox, it uses an RFID reader to instantly play the associated recordings.

What’s the problem?


27.6 million American homes lack internet access, leading many to depend on public parking lots for free internet. "Connection Belongs at Home" is a campaign sparking conversation about these disparities, urging viewers to contact state representatives for equal broadband access.










Who’s the target audience?


Young American students who have access to high-speed internet. As most parking lot users fall into the student or young remote worker demographic, creating a relatable connection between viewers and victims was essential to evoke a sense of relatability and responsibility.

60-Second Animation


The storyline of this animation draws parallels between conventional and unconventional uses of parking lots, highlighting the challenges of students, teachers, and remote workers trying to access internet while working in their cars. View the full animation.







Social Media


Instagram posts aim to boost awareness by sharing information through statistics, illustrations, and quotes of individuals’ experiences using parking lots for free internet access.





 

Public Signage


Billboards and parking signs leverage parking spaces to engage viewers during their daily car-related activities.







Merchandise


Keychains and bumper stickers were designed to allow users to show support for the campaign, enhancing its promotion.









Mitsuo Katsui | My Design Hero


A series of artifacts created to celebrate the legacy of Mitsuo Katsui (勝井三雄), an internationally renowned designer. Using a variety of mediums, I aimed to portray Katsui’s design philosophy and his use of light, colors, gradation, and form.

Digital Experiences


A mobile experience and live site that introduces Katsui through digital interfaces. Designed as a compliment to the booklet, these interactive experiences consist of a brief biography, a gallery of his famous works, a timeline of his accomplishments, and statements by and about him.

Ignite Broward | Brand Identity


An identity system for an interactive art and light festival located in Broward County, Florida. For this project, I was tasked with elevating this event’s visual identity by developing a typography-driven identity system.

The Broward County Cultural Division in South Florida hostes the annual IGNITE Broward festival, which showcases immersive large-scale projection mapping, interactive light sculptures, and installations, crafted by national artists and designers using the latest technology.


Visualizing the immersive experience of screens and projections


This brand identity was designed to embody the fusion of artistic creativity and technology. The line pattern in the design system was integrated with repetitive architectural elements in physical spaces, such as staircases.





Designing a scalable and flexible style guide.


Defining usage of color palettes, large and condensed logos, the primary line pattern, and images for consistent usage across various digital and physical enviornments.










Wieliczka Salt Mines | Publication • Interactive


A hand-crafted zine and interactive game design that aims to replicate the vastness, deep history, and data of the Wieliczka Salt Mines in Poland.

Unfolding a Legendary Story


As the package design is unfolded, it reveals a chronological story of the Legend of Saint Kinga, a Hungarian princess who brought salt to the Kingdom of Poland.

The package design was inkjet-printed and hand-cut and glued. The inside cover was debossed using a plate engraved with our design.

Mimicking Polish folk patterns 


Taking inspiration from Polish folk patterns, we designed repeting assets and applied it at various scales across each page and even within the insides of the french fold.

Images from the mine were treated in Photoshop and used to aid the translation of information.
















An interactive game concept


A second part of this project was to design an interactive experience that informs viewers about the Wieliczka Salt Mine. We imitated the feeling of going deeper into the mine and gamified the experience by allowing the user to mine for their own salt, visit various chambers, and advance to deeper levels, all the while learning about the incredible wonders of the mine.
